Prayer and the power of God

James 5:17 Elijah was a man subject to passions similar to ours, and he prayed fervently that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the earth for three years and six months.

Many people look for help and answers in the wrong places. But God wants mankind to look and believe in him (Isaiah 45:22).

First of all, to get something from God we need to believe wholeheartedly (James 1: 6-7; Acts 8:37). God is good, true, faithful, almighty, and much more, therefore worthy of our full trust. Unbelief is a sin that will lead many to perdition.

Many people think that God does not want to be bothered, the devil makes them believe that God does not want to answer them or that it is not necessary to ask him, however, God wanted us to communicate with him through prayer. There are many promises about God's firm desire to hear our prayers. Jesus demonstrated and delivered new promises for believers and they are all included in prayer (John 15: 7; 16:24, Luke 18: 1-8).

Considering the aspect that God is sovereign and works as he wants in the world, his will is also expressed through the church, the set of true believers is the body of Christ (1 Corinthians 12: 12-13), therefore We receive his thoughts and wishes to continue his work on earth, and this includes making prayers (Matthew 6: 9-14; 1 Timothy 2: 1-4; Romans 1: 9-10).

In order to receive an answer from God it is necessary that we obey him, do his will and keep his commandments (Matthew 5: 8, 1 John 3: 21-22).

As children of God it is necessary that we be able to recognize your voice, in this way we will be able to discern God's will, towards where he is leading us when we pray. It is necessary to follow the orders of our God, who is also our Lord and we serve him (John 10:27; 14:23).

With regard to God's will, for our prayers to be effective, they have to be in accordance with what God wants, which also implies response times, and also, if he wants, he responds with what we expect or tells us another. thing (2 Corinthians 12: 8, Romans 8:14; 8:26).

Regarding the answers to our prayers, let us not forget to thank him, because he is the one who does all things, and thus we also demonstrate our dependence on him and give the worship he deserves (John 11:41; Philippians 4: 6) .

Amen.
